My name
is Ashley Pomeroy and I was born in 1976, in Wiltshire, England. My main
passion is robot dancing, but I am also a hobbyist photographer. I believe
that lighting and photography are inseparable, and so I have concentrated
on learning about light. Natural light, coloured light, harsh light, soft
light, white light, darkness. I'm fascinated with the old-style Hollywood
studio portraits of the distant past, those black and white shots of
Marlene Dietrich and Louise
Brooks, where the model's face seems to emerge from darkness into a pool of light.
